Urban Design
Urban design projects have been executed with institutional and municipal clients and range from university to main street projects. These projects include open space and pedestrian enclaves within campuses that link the various buildings and movement patterns together. The full spectrum of spatial design, landscape design, and urban furniture and lighting are conceived in a holistic approach.
Main street projects have seen the re-vitalization of downtown urban cores in small to medium sized communities. Commercial interests, institutional interests, and public interests all come into play to form a cohesive design solution. Typically, these projects include vehicular and pedestrian movement patterns, parking and open space development, urban street furnishings, landscaping for both hard and soft surfaces and design standards for the conservation of historic structures and the refurbishment of older commercial buildings. In most instances the Firm works with an array of client interests including both the public and private sectors with significant public input from local residents.
