Webb Design
Contemporary Renovation
Webb Design in Taos, New Mexico is the regions’ leading graphic, marketing and media design firm and enjoys many years of outstanding service to the community. When the firm decided to move from its former location, the client approached our firm with a request to design their new premises in a contemporary aesthetic that would enhance their own media design philosophy. The building was a former emergency room for the local hospital and presented a number of design challenges that might not occur in a purpose-built structure including low ceilings and existing structural constraints.
Many Webb Design clients spend considerable time in the offices working with individual staff on their projects and in conferences. This translated into the design of staff work stations that are compact with low levels of lighting yet are able to provide privacy when staff meet with clients. In the center of the work station space is a conference/lunch space that is used by both staff and clients. The atmosphere that was created through the design is one in which the staff and clients feel congeniality and quiet camaraderie.
An open reception area, several private offices, and a large conference room complement the design. A reference library, small kitchenette and storage room adjoins the conference room at the rear of the office. The tele-communication and reproduction room is remote and acoustically isolated from the work spaces.
Designed in a contemporary manner with specialized lighting and subdued wall finishes, the entire office becomes a display space for examples of the innovative design work of Webb Design.
